Pray For The Sick

Welcome back to another episode of God is better than cake.

I’m your host, Lottie!

Did you know that the Bible tells us to pray for the sick and those that are suffering?

Let’s read it together.

‭‭James‬ ‭5:13-16:

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

We live really close to both a hospital and fire station and often hear sirens outside during the day.

When I was a little girl. My mom and dad taught me that we should pray for the people that might be hurt when we hear sirens. So every day whenever we hear the ambulance, police or the fire trucks, we stop and pray for whoever might be hurting or suffering.

Emergency situations are very scary and if you’re ever in one, I’m sure you would want to be surrounded in prayer. Let’s pray together for those that are suffering right now.

Dear Lord, please help all of the people that are suffering and hurting. Please show them your love and mercy and your goodness and kindness. Please help them to know you if they don’t and help them to have peace in their hearts and heal their bodies. In Jesus  name amen.

In Psalm 41 it talks about the righteous man who considers the poor around him and it gives this promise which I think you’ll like:

Psalm 41:3:

“The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.”

I hope you have a really great day and don’t forget to pray for those in need if you hear the sirens today!

This has been another episode of God is better than cake.

Remember to be kind to one another!

Until next time, ciao!
