When Plans Change

Proverbs 16:1-3

Hello everyone, welcome back to another episode of God is Better Than Cake

I’m your host, Lottie! And I’m Penny!

Penny: How are you guys doing today?

Today we’re going to talk about plans. Do you have plans to go somewhere, see some friends or get something done at work today? Guess what? God may have a different path for you. Sometimes we make plans but God changes them and sends us in a whole new direction, mostly because he wants us to trust him and learn something new or open our eyes to see someone in need.

Our verse today comes from Proverbs 16 verses 1 to 3

“The plans of the heart belong to man,

but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,

but the Lord weighs the spirit.

Commit your work to the Lord,

and your plans will be established.”

– Proverbs 16:1-3 ESV

Now just because the outcome of your day may be significantly different from what you planned and expected, doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t still make plans.

This proverb says that the plans of the heart belong to us, meaning that we still make plans, but we are to submit them to the Lord and be ready for his direction.

When we make plans that are honoring him and commit our ways to him, he actually establishes those plans too!

Just remember it’s all about the heart. Are you looking to serve God in all you do? Or serve your own desires?

Lord help us to make plans and commit them to you but be ready for when you have a different path for us.

In Jesus name, amen!

Alright, this has been another episode of God is better than Cake.

Until next time, Ciao
