Hi Everyone! 

Welcome to this special preview of God is Better Than Cake

I’m your host, Lottie, I am 4 years old. And with me in the studio today is my dad!

Hi guys! Thank you Lottie for having me. I’m very honored to be here today.

My dad started reading books to me every night when I was 5 weeks old. I loved it and quickly caught on and was reading by the time I was 3.

And no one even taught me! 

Ok also before we get into the lesson today, I need to tell you that I lost my central incisor a couple days ago. For those of you that don’t know, that’s my bottom middle tooth. So I might sound funny on some episodes.

Alright, we’re going to read from Romans 13, verse 12, I’m going to say it first and dad, you repeat after me, okay?

Okay, sounds great!

 
“The night is far gone; the day is at hand. 

So then let us cast off the works of darkness

and put on the armor of light.”

My mom and dad told me that June has become a very dark month but the Bible says we should bring light into the darkness. 

So, Lottie, how should we bring light to the darkness this month?

Here are three things we can all do!

Number 1. PRAY

We need to pray for everyone we know that does not know Jesus

That’s really good, what about people that do know Jesus but are starting to doubt his goodness and truth?

Oh yes that too!

Number 2. WORSHIP

If you’re bad at singing, like some people in my family. You can turn on worship music every day from Spotify, iTunes, Youtube or CDs if you’re old. 

Those are all great, but bottom line it’s important to worship God every day.

Yeah, even if you’re bad at singing, God doesn’t care and you can pour your heart out to him in song

Number 3. SPEAK LIFE

One of my favorite songs is “Speak Life” by Tobymac. If you haven’t listened to it you should.

Every day this month, challenge yourself to tell someone that you love them or say something nice to them. I love my mommy and daddy and brother and sisters and I’m going to tell them every day.

Oh yes, that is a good way to exercise what God has told us to speak the truth in love and build one another up.

Ok so remember three things, PRAY, WORSHIP and SPEAK LIFE! Now my dad is going to read another verse to wrap things up.

Jesus said in John 8:12:

“I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

If this month seems overwhelmingly dark, just remember what John said in the Bible in John 1:5,

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

So let’s go be the light of Jesus together this month!

Dear Jesus, 

Please help my listeners to turn their hearts to you this month. Please help them to remember to pray, worship and speak life to those around them. Help them to be the light in this very dark world. We love you and worship you and can’t wait till you come back!

Thank you for loving us and dying on the cross for our sins. Thank you that you rose from the dead and defeated the darkness once and for all.
